Sour Beers

Sour beer is a style where acidity plays a central role in the overall flavour. Within modern craft beer, there are many different types of sour beers, ranging from light and refreshing to stronger and more complex expressions.

We brew different types of sour beers at Flying Couch. Some are light fruited sours with a low ABV, where a soft and rounded acidity creates a fresh and highly drinkable beer. Others are inspired by gose, the classic German beer style where gentle acidity meets salt and fruit in a dry and refreshing beer.

At the stronger end of the spectrum, we brew higher-ABV sour beers, where more body, fruit and alcohol create a deeper and more intense flavour profile.

What all of our sour beers and fruited sours have in common is balanced acidity, clean flavours and a focus on drinkability.
